Fantasy.

So as you all know, the movie Twilight came out last night/this morning at midnight. Of course I went to go see it, along with Jessie. After watching this movie, me and Jessie were talking about how cool it would be if things like that were real.  But it is just fantasy world.  What made this fantasy world?  Why is it that we wish for such fantasy things that aren't really real?..or are they?

What if those things are real? What if we are the fantasy world to them? Better yet, what if there are such things as vampires, fairies, werwolves, etc?  Going back to wondering if all of this is just a dream anyway, who know what's real and not real?  Can we know what is real or fantasy, or is it just what has been put into our heads leading us to know or think we know what is real and fantasy?

Things like vampires, are supposedly not real.  But we all know what their qualities are.  We know what a unicorn looks like.  We know what werewolves do when there is a full moon.  We all know the stories.  But how do we know, maybe, somewhere, these so called fantasies exist.  Maybe they exist and maybe we are the fantasy world that lives inside of their minds..

God's existence...

So, all this talk about whether we can know if God exists or not, has really got me thinking.

We have the different views of Descartes, Kant and Anselm. For me, I can't see how we can prove God's existence with logic. Yes, we have the bible. Yes, we have historical facts and artifacts. But there is too many "what ifs". People say that Jesus and the Bible are proof that we know there is God. But couldn't it be possible that Jesus was the first magician. Maybe all the things he did and said were just magic tricks and getting people to believe what he had to say. Just like our parents get us to believe in Santa Claus when we were younger, Jesus could have been getting all kinds of people to believe in God. Then people would write about everything.

I also think about all the stories in the Bible and how they could have gotten changed from person to person and then to the person writing it. There are just so many factors to disagree that logic can't prove God's existence.

We also talked about other religions and who is right and who is wrong. I believe that there is no wrong or right answer. I think that the actual idea of God is what gives us something to live life by. Whether He is real or not, I think it's just mainly an idea. If we didn't have God or whatever we believe, to base or morals and beliefs on, then we would feel like "what are we even doing here?".

It's only life.

Oh life. What you do to me.

So I recently watched the movie, Life is Beautiful. It got me thinking that no matter how bad life gets, we have to make the best of it. Our imagination and what we perceive life to be, is how we will make it through. The man in the movie makes the best of a being in a concentration camp! How crazy is that. He gets his son and wife through it. It just amazes me, how in the worst of the worst, how someone can bring so much joy to the situation and use imagination to make it through the hard times. It makes me think of how we can make such small things into such a big deal and make the worst out of the most simple things. We need to move past those things and just bring joy to our lives.

We question our existence and ask why we are even here. We think about what life really means and how we want to go on living it. It is hard to suggest that life isn't really happening like we think it is; that this is just an illusion or a dream or whatever. Whatever it is, it is good. We need to make the most of it. We need to see things and appreciate them. There is so much to figure out! Yes, it's only life. But it's all we got.....or is it?
