So, I seriously was really mad driving home today. There were a bunch of people holding picket signs saying "Yes on Prop. 8". I am so sick of people trying to get other people to vote yes on prop. 8 with their unreasonable and ridiculous so called "reasons". Flat out, it's unfair. It's unjust. It's discrimination. All of the so-called Christians saying that it is in the bible and it is a sin..blah blah blah. If these Christians or whoever are so for love and God, why are they so quick to discriminate God's own children. The bible says that God loves EVERYONE. The constitution states that all men should be created equally. Everyone, no matter who they are, deserves the right to love who they want and should have the right to spend the rest of their lives together as a married couple.
In the bible, lepers were seen as sinful people and no one wanted to associate with them. Sound familiar? But wait, what did Jesus do? He walked among them. Why can't everyone do the same thing now? It seems like people are scared to accept something that's different to them. But we should accept people for who they are. We are all children of God. And if Jesus can do it, our society can do it. This proposition is not about religion or teachings in school, which by the way, marriage isn't even taught in school so that is not even an issue. Although, if it were to be taught, don't you think more people would be open and more knowledgeable about all different kinds of people? I would expect by going to a Christian school, that people would be saying no on prop. 8 because they love everyone and want everyone to be happy just like God would want. All of the yes on prop. 8 excuses are ridiculous. Give love a chance. Give people a chance. Give people the benefit that you would like to have, no matter who they are. Do what Jesus would do. Do what God would want us to do.
You don't have to know who is getting married. You don't have to attend the wedding. Just give people the right to marry the one they love. Everyone deserves the right to be happy.
NO ON PROP. 8.

Learn from Traveling!
Today my dad showed me a video off of a website called wherethehellismatt.com and it made me really happy! The video is about this random guy named Matt who traveled to 39 different countries on 7 continents. The video just shows this Matt guy doing this really bad, but funny dance with people from each country and it is like the coolest thing ever! It made me realize how happy people are, even with whatever is going on in their country. They can just stop what they are doing and dance with some random American guy. Seeing all of the countries he went to also made me realize how much I am missing out! This Matt guy says he isn't rich or anything. He is just your average guy who wanted to see what he had been missing out on in life.
I encourage you all to take a look at this video. I have been fortunate enough to travel to a few different countries and many states and the feeling of going somewhere new and learning about new cultures, is something I wish I could do more often. It is one of the most amazing things you can do. This video shows many countries and it has made me want to travel and learn more about more cultures. We really don't know what else is out there until we have gone to experience it for ourselves and take on things we have never done before. We need to live our lives and go out there in the world and travel and see new things. I, personally, have learned so much about other cultures and about myself from traveling. You really miss out if you don't see what else is out there. There is so much out there to learn and at our age now, we still have so much time to do so.

When it all Falls Down..
Do you ever feel like, if there wasn't just one thing holding you back, you could just fall and lay there forever? Why is it that when life is going so great and things are working out, SOMETHING, has to ruin it. Does it just happen to the same people? Are things targeted at certain people? Is God, if there is one, trying to tell us something? When I see people so perfectly happy, I have to stop and wonder.."are they really THAT happy? is everything going on that perfect in their life?"
I understand that we need to live our life to the fullest because you never know what is going to happen. We need to cherish everything we have. I understand that. But what if some things are just too hard to push away? Our minds work differently. What if something happened to us or something is happening to us, that is just too hard to forget or let go?...How are we supposed to just go on? Yes, we can act happy and do things that make us happy, but when we have time to think, our minds make us remember what is really going on..I know this doesn't apply to everyone, but I know it does apply to many.

One question: Why?
The one question, out of the many I have, that has stuck with me for a long time, is why do ANYTHING if we are just going to die anyway? Why waste time going to school? We're just going to die. We might as well do things we enjoy and travel the world so we make the most of life..because we are just going to die anyway. It just seems weird to think of doing anything when in the end, it doesn't even matter. What is our purpose? One night during a family dinner, probably like 5 years ago, my sister and I had this conversation. We got so into the question, that we started questioning doing anything. We were saying things like, "Why eat if we are just going to die? Why waste time sleeping if we are just going to die?" My parents thought we were crazy but we didn't! We thought we were making complete sense. Right? So that night we decided we weren't going to do any homework. We stayed up late and watched movies and had fun. We went to sleep at 3 am and woke up at 4 am. What was the point of sleeping more? After we woke up, we went outside and played soccer, showered, made a big breakfast, went to school late, slept in class (well I did), etc. What was the point of following the rules and doing the usual if we were just going to die? Well it took a toll on us after not doing the homework assignments and being too tired to do anything. So we learned our lesson, but it still didn't completely answer our question. Really? What is the point? What is the point of doing anything if we are just going to die in the end? What is our purpose here? Although frustrating, we have to go on with our lives..even if we are just going to die..

If something bad can happen, it usually will.

How come it always seems that if something bad can happen it usually will? How is it that i was actually early for once on my way to Philosophy class, and as I'm getting off the freeway, my tire completely blows out and I lose control and have to swerve off the road? Sometimes when things are going good, something bad happens to make what was good, now a bad situation.
Why does this happen? Is it a lesson we are supposed to be learning? I don't know. I feel like often times when I am doing something, anything within the day, I think of possibilities of something bad happening. For example, if I am walking by myself through a crowd of people wearing heels and I keep telling myself "please don't trip, please don't trip", and I trip, did I make myself trip by thinking about it? I believe that if we think about something happening, like tripping, it will happen because our mind focuses on the word "trip". But in this tire blow out case, I wasn't thinking about, "What if my tire blew out right now while I'm actually early?" But it happened anyways. I don't know. It's just weird how things work out! It feels like somehow, something has to go wrong.
